Francis L. Meagher, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Francis L. Meagher, 85, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place on Wednesday, January 3, at 10:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Francis was born July 31, 1938, in Ottawa, IL, to Francis and Esther (Capello) Meagher. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 3 years stationed at Camp Pendleton. After his time in service, he was a union carpenter with Local 195 for over 30 years. In his free time, he enjoyed his model trains, kicking back smoking his pipe, and tending to his beautiful garden. He was an avid sports fan, listening to the White Sox, the New York Giants, Notre Dame, or the University of Illinois on his radio. He was an animal lover and adored his dogs, Shorty and Dutch. He loved food and was always looking forward to planning his meals.

He is survived by his children, Dan (Tina) Meagher, Amy (Jay) Aicher, Jimmy Meagher, Dave Meagher, and Beth (Shannon) Brown; his grandchildren, Zachary, Alyssa, Jacob, Jonah, Kayla, Hannah, Jerrick, Jessica, Mariah, Jayden, and Teyah; his great grandchildren, Finnian, Rowan, Kali, Tinley, Dalton, Donald, and Silas; as well as his brother, Michael Meagher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Cheryl; his daughter in infancy; his great granddaughter, Maggie Aicher; his siblings, Patricia George, Diane Bayer, and Maureen Farmer; and his beloved dogs, Shorty and Dutch.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jayden, Jacob, Jonah, Jerrick, and Zachary and his son in law, Jay Aicher.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Patricia “Momma D” (Redman) Dillard, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Patricia “Momma D” (Redman) Dillard, 61, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Allure of Mendota Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa with Rev. Duane Kaufman, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #33 Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Celebration of life will be held following the burial.

Patty was born on July 23, 1962 in Plano to Daniel and Lenna (Bowline) Redman. She worked as a restaurant cook. Patty served in the U.S. Marines from 1982 to 1985.

She is survived by her parents, Daniel (Kathy) Redman of Sheridan and Lenna Bowline of Marseilles; two sons, Daniel (Alison) Dillard of Spring Valley and David (Blair) Dillard of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Daniel “DJ”, Brooklyn, Aubrey and Greyson Dillard; and a brother, Charles Redman.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Ann K. (Stohr) Reynolds, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Ann Katherine (Stohr) Reynolds, 91, of Ottawa went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, December 5, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Jonathan Walker, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the funeral home.

Ann was born on March 6, 1932 in Ottawa to Elmer and Dorothy (Allen) Stohr. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1950. Ann married Roy Reynolds on February 17, 1951 at the Paul Street Bible Church in Ottawa. Ann and Roy enjoyed Blue Grass music and traveled to many Blue Grass Festivals They celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing on December 20, 2021. Ann spent much of her life raising her children, but also sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry, worked as a CNA at Pleasant View, and later became an activities aide there. She had a passion for crocheting and a generous heart. Ann crocheted blankets for members of her family. She later crocheted blankets for Under His Wings, and crocheted blankets and hats for cancer patients. She also donated teddy bears to the hospital, for sick children. Ann started a group with her former classmates called the Lost and Found Ladies. Ann’s Christian Faith meant a lot to her. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Grace Baptist Church. She started two Bible Study Groups. One of her favorite phrases was, “Read Your Bible.”

She is survived by four children, Patricia Ann Sensiba of Tonica, Roy Allen Reynolds of San Antonio, TX, Paul David (Maureen) Reynolds of Bloomington, and Marcia Kay Myers of Oglesby; six grandchildren, Jamie (George) Brewer, Jason (Nancy) Sensiba, Sunshine Thunderchief, Renae (Chris) Lentz, Krystal (Jenny) Taylor, and Nathan Roberts; ten great grandchildren, Stephenie (Andrew) Carmin, Patrick (Emilee) Hirschman, Brent (Jade) Hirschman, Mark Hirschman, Jeff Sensiba, Joshua Sensiba, Jacob Sensiba, Mackenzie Lentz, Sophia Lentz, and Olivia Lentz; six great-great grandchildren, Natalie and Liam Carmin, Levi and Lexi Hirschman, and Stephen and Hugh Hirschman; three brothers, Dale Stohr, Bob (Linda) Stohr, and Wesley Stohr; and two sisters Gloria Beard and Sheila (James) Nanouski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy, four brothers, Raymond, Leonard, Kenneth, and Don Stohr, and two great granddaughters, Heather and Jennifer Sensiba.

Pallbearers will be her six great grandsons.

Ruben E Santos, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Ruben Santos M.D., age 81, longtime Spring Valley physician and resident, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his home in Princeton, where he has resided for the past five years.

A visitation for Dr. Santos will be held Friday, December 9, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, at the Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley.  A short funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester officiating. Following services, cremation will be accorded, and Dr. Santos will be laid to rest in the Philippines and Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa, IL at a later date.

Dr. Santos was born on June 4, 1941 in Laoag, Ilocas Norte, Philippines to Primo and Concepcion (Laborte) Santos. He married Sally Andres in the Philippines and they have celebrated 56 years of marriage together.

Dr. Santos was the owner of Valley Pathology, S.C. and served as a physician and pathologist for St. Margaret’s Hospital for over 38 years.

He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Princeton; his children, Patrick (Tracy) Santos of Hicksville, NY, Cindy (Scott) Etheridge of Murrieta, CA, and Dr. Eric (Joseph) Santos of Princeton; five grandchildren, Gabriella, Ethan, Benjamin, Brandon, and Julia; and his sister Leonora Miguel of the Philippines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ernesto Santos.

The family would like to mention a special “thank you!” to all of Ruben’s caretakers, especially Pattie, Terri, Marlene, and Diane.
