Terrence Michael Dobberstein, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Terrence Michael Dobberstein, age 67, beloved husband of Trina, dear father of Kate, Ben (Sarah) and the late Max, brother of Janet Stewart (Edward), Lois Young (David), Steve Dobberstein, Mark Dobberstein (Doreen) and Rita Lipka (Scott), grandfather (lovingly known as “Pops”) of Maddax and Isley.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Dobberstein.

Terry’s natural disposition was always happy and calm and he cared about every person he met.

In the words of a special friend, “Those big hands of his reached far.”

A Mass and gathering to celebrate life will be held at a later date.

He was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Psalms.

Richard J. “Rick” Sigler, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Richard J. “Rick” Sigler, 67, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at his home. Rick fought a difficult battle against glioblastoma.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, July 18 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Donoho officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm, Friday, July 17 at the funeral home. Due to CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required. He will be buried at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Rick was born March 10, 1953 in Ottawa to John and Gloria (Vittone) Sigler. He married Teresa Callahan on September 10, 1976. Rick was a pipefitter by trade, retiring after 35 years. He began his career as an apprentice in Local 81. He transferred to Local 501 in 1999 and finished his career in Local 597. He served as Administrator at the Ottawa Moose Lodge 960 for several years.

He loved the Cubs, golfing, traveling, cruising, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He loved his family and cherished his sweet granddaughter, Kiara. He loved his Moose family and will be greatly missed. He attended Crossbridge Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa; two children, Amy (Jim) Kummer of Ottawa and Brian Sigler of Chicago; his granddaughter, Kiara; his mother, Gloria; and his sister, Nancy Capsel. He was proceeded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Mike Capsel.

Pallbearers include: Scott Wiesbrock, Bob Solberg, Dave Poole, Wayne Phillips, Ron Callahan and Jim Kummer.

He was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.

Susan Jane Sampson, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Susan Jane Sampson, 76 years of age, passed on Thursday April 2, 2020 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home.

Susan was born February 12, 1944 in Ottawa, Illinois to the late Walter and Catherine Farley. Susan graduated from Ottawa High School in 1962.

Susan worked in Paris, France at the House of Givenchy and then for Koret of California as a designers model. Susan married the late Gary Sampson on November 20th, 1966. Gary and Susan lived in many different places during their long and loving life together. They developed many wonderful friendships along the way. Susan had a lifelong relationship with Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her brother, Walter (Michele) Farley of Sandwich, IL; a son Steven (Julie) Sampson of Madisonville, KY; a daughter Dawn (Chip) Thornbury of Richmond, KY and five grandchildren Emma Thornbury, Kate Sampson, Jack Thornbury, Will Sampson and Anna Sampson; a nephew Dean (Angela) Farley of Sandwich, Illinois, a niece Kris (Craig) Mitchell Sandwich, Illinois and their families.

Susan chose to be cremated and will be interred in Ottawa, Illinois, with her husband Gary, at a later date when conditions permit.

She was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Prayer.

Thomas Massey, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Thomas Massey, 72, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the home of his daughter in Ottawa, surrounded by his family.

Graveside Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa with the Rev. Gary Caster, of the Ottawa Catholic Parishes, officiating. Full Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 33 Veteran’s Group Honor Guard. The Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa has been entrusted with arrangements.

He was born on December 6, 1947 in Streator to Leroy and Roseanne (Gutilla) Massey. He was a veteran of the US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War Era. He was a welder at Caterpillar in Aurora.

He is survived by three children Mary Kay (Robert) Heiser-Partridge, of Ottawa, Thomas (Daylyn) Massey, Jr., of Ottawa, and a step-daughter, Nicole (Matt) Purifoy, of Grand Ridge, nine grandchildren, Joshua, Madison, Brandon, Trevor, Kole, Alyssa, Kai, Hazen, and Ashlynn, and a brother Steve (Marilyn) Massey, of Streator.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, his parents, and a brother James Massey.

He was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.

Doris Anderson, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Doris Anderson, 96, formerly of Ottawa, passed away on Monday morning, July 6, 2020 at her home in Grimes, Iowa.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 10, in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, with Rev. Carolyn Lukasick, Pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines face coverings and social distancing will be required. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Doris was born on July 29, 1923 in Ottawa, to Walter C. and Ivy (Barnett) Brown. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Doris married Daniel Anderson on January 14, 1944 in Greenville, SC. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Jill S. Clark, of Urbandale, IA, two grandchildren, her grandson and his wife Andrea Clark, granddaughter Danielle (Ahmed) Ibrahim, and three great grandchildren, Hunter and Kylie Clark and Ava Ibrahim.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel on June 8, 2006, and a brother Don Cunico.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Inspiration.

Pamela Sue (Carver) Cameron, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Pamela Sue (Carver) Cameron, age 68, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 9th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Pam’s niece, Reverend Tracy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8th at the funeral home.

Pam was born February 11, 1952 in Morris, Illinois, a daughter of Robert and Mozzell (Kitrill) Carver. She is survived by the love of her life and lifelong partner, Charles Rausch and his grandchildren, Mike, Danny and Tiffany Rausch who were the same as family to her; sons, Greg (Kristin) Cameron of Lostant and Joseph (Cindi) Cameron of Streator; grandchildren, Joshua Cameron, Jennifer Evans, Jared Cameron, Whitney Trogden, Jordan and Dillon Cameron, Emily Fry, Megan, Alyssa, Greg and Joey Cameron; and twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves brothers, Robert “Tony” Carver of LaSalle, Barry Carver and Timothy Carver of Ottawa; and sisters, Pearl Rather of Ottawa and Kathy (Art) Cook of Marseilles. Pam was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jeffery Carver and Bruce Scaman; a nephew, Josh Scaman; and a daughter-in-law, Karrie Cameron.

Pam attended the Assembly of God in Seneca. She was a retired employee of Exelon and had worked in the Army recruiting office in her earlier years. Pam was a very generous person and was always willing to do whatever was needed to help a person in need. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Servants Heart and going sightseeing with Charlie. Pam enjoyed nature and wildlife and making sure they were well fed. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of the Ten Commandments.

Delores Ann (Morrell) Weber, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Delores Ann (Morrell) Weber, age 81, passed away June 26, 2020 at her home.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 3rd at noon at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Caster officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service on Friday, July 3rd.

Delores was born May 30, 1939 in Ottawa to Richard Henry and Anna Mae (Markovich) Morrell. She married William Weber June 17, 1963 in Streator. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1981. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Michelle) Weber and Raymond Weber; a daughter Georgia (David) Wright; two brothers, Arthur (Jackie) Morrell and Richard Morrell; grandchildren, Sharon Weber, Ashley Weber, Michael Weber, Joshua Wright, Sarah (Rupp) Wright, and James Wright; and a great grandson William Rupp.

Delores attended St. Columba church. She was a nurse’s aid at LaSalle County Nursing Home for 30 years until retirement. She loved her family and cherished her time spent with them.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Psalms.

Barbara J. (Stone) Budach, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Barbara J. (Stone) Budach, 79, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday June 28, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon on Friday, July 3, 2020 at St. Columba Church, in Ottawa, with Rev. David Kipfer, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Due to current guidelines, social distancing and masks will be required.

Barbara was born on February 26, 1941 in Ottawa, to Wesley J. and Susan J. (Hicks) Stone. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Barbara married John J. Budach, Sr. on February 19, 1980 in Ottawa. She was a member of St. Columba Church, in Ottawa.

She is survived by her husband, John, five children, Edward J. Logsdon, Jr., of Michigan, Patrick F. (Michelle) Logsdon, of LaSalle, Annette J. (Joe Baines) Logsdon, of Ottawa, Michael J. Logsdon, of Ottawa, and John J. (Amanda) Budach, Jr., of Ottawa, 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a brother Wesley J. (Sandy) Stone, Jr., of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Jacob Logsdon, in infancy, 2 granddaughters Megan Rose Budach, and Catherine Mae Logsdon, in infancy, a son Wesley Logsdon, and a sister Norma Dodson.

Pallbearers will be Patrick, Mike, and Edward Logsdon, Jr., John Budach, Jr., Nicholas and Sean Logsdon, and Wesley Stone. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gretchen, Tori, Hailey, Landon, and Ethan.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Psalms.

Sandra K. “Sandy” (Teausant) Burkart, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Sandra K. “Sandy” (Teausant) Burkart, 68, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family after courageously fighting a four year battle with breast cancer.

A public visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm, Thursday, July 2 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Due to the current Covid-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing are required. A public celebration of life will be held Friday evening at Shoreline Boat Club. She will be laid to rest at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Sandy was born February 12, 1952, in Ottawa, IL, to Wesley Teausant and Marilyn Munks. She married Gerry Burkart on June 21, 2001 in Key West, FL.

She was an Ottawa Township High School and Eastern Illinois Graduate. She went on to become the Vice-President of Marketing at Financial Plus Credit Union, where she worked for over 35 years. She was the creator of the Kid’s Club and its mascot “Wiley Wabbit”. She was awarded the CUES Marketing Professional of the Year for the State of Illinois on two occasions. Her recognition included fifteen CUES Golden Mirror Awards, a CUNA Bridge, and three Diamond Marketing Awards. She was a co-host VIP of the televised Easter Seal telethon for many years. She served on the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce board for six years, was the president of the local Crimestoppers Board of Directors for several years, performed with Ottawa Community Players, was on the board of directors for the Tri-County Chapter of Credit Unions, and was inducted into the Illinois Credit Union Hall of Fame. She was also a member of Shoreline Boat Club with her husband Gerry.

Sandy had a heart of gold and a quick sense of humor that allowed her to rattle off one liners, one after the other. She was fond of her family, her dogs, playing Shanghai and Liverpool, traveling, boating, and had many close friends.

She is survived by her husband, Gerry Burkart; her step-sons, Jeremy Burkart of Jacksonville, Fl and Corey Burkhart of LaSalle; her siblings, Jack (MaryK) Teausant of Ottawa, Terry (Jean Pyszka) Teausant of Peru, and Nanette Taller of Morris; her step-sister, Karen Dudgeon of Ottawa; her mother-in-law, Elsie Burkart of Peru; her brothers-in-law, William Burkart and Ron Burkart of LaSalle and Lee (Dee) Burkart of Peru; her sisters-in-law, Regina (Tom) Gualandi of Utica and Laura Burkart of Sugar Grove; her grandchildren, Cam, Quinn, and Kinsley Burkart; and her nieces and nephews, Travis (Chris) Teausant, Danielle (Morgan) McCarthy, Andrea (Josh) Smith, Kenny (Karen) Teausant, and Ben, Jon, and Willow Taller.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather Ken Dudgeon; her step-sister, Suzann Conley; and her brother-in-law, Dr. Steve Taller.

She was laid to rest in the Sanctuary of Seasons.

Lynne Carol (Martin) VanGrevenhof, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Lynne Carol (Martin) VanGrevenhof, age 73 of Ottawa, IL, passed peacefully on May 2, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Houston, TX, surrounded by her family.

Lynne was born in Watseka, IL to Oscar and Dallas (Hinkle) Martin. She married David VanGrevenhof in 1974. Lynne worked for nearly 30 years at Snap-on-Tools, which was like her 2nd family. She then worked with very close friends at Voyager until her retirement.

She was a deeply faithful woman with a generous spirit and a kind heart, consistently putting others first. She led a very quiet and private life of service to others, always helping, encouraging and praying for those in need. Her family and friends were extremely important to her; enjoying their company was her favorite pastime. She was a lifelong learner and voracious reader. She also loved all types of music and craft projects.

Each grandchild knew they were unconditionally and fiercely loved. She showered them with affection, frequent emojis, and gifts for every conceivable occasion. She taught them to always be kind to others, to express their creativity, and to be their truest selves. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy and absolutely loved every cheer competition and dance recital she had the opportunity to attend.

Lynne was predeceased by her mother, Dallas Martin and brother, Bruce Martin. She is survived by her husband, Dave; daughters Heather (Dennis) Kracik of Chicago and Courtney Olesen of Houston; three granddaughters Morgan Olesen, Cassidy Olesen and Julia Kracik; great grandson Greyson Garcia; father Oscar Martin of Watseka, IL; brother Randy Martin of the Quad Cities; her loving sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends.

She was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Shrine of Rest in the Sanctuary of Seasons.
