Jeanine Bramel Burkett, 81, of Kirkland, Ill., passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at home.
Born Dec. 17, 1941, in Ottawa, Ill., the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Downing) Bramel, Jeanine married Dale Wesley Burkett in September 1965.
A 1960 graduate of Ottawa Township High School, Jeanine was a rural letter carrier for the Kirkland Post Office for many years and drove a school bus for Kirkland schools for 10 years. She also worked 15 years for the Kirkland bank as a maintenance worker.
Jeanine is survived by her brother, Marion (Judy) Bramel of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and friend, June Walker.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Dale in 2000; parents; brothers, James (Lois), Lewis (Patricia) and Joseph (Sherrill) Bramel; and sisters, Margaret (John) Diehl, Velma (Paul) Thorsen, Betty (Robert) Bailey and Jessie (Ross) Rinker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her name to Kirkland Rescue Squad.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at Olson’s Quiram Kirkland Chapel, 309 S. Fifth St., Kirkland, IL 60146.
Interment will be a later date at Oakwood Memorial Park, 2405 Champlain St., Ottawa, IL 61350.
