Thomas “Tom” Christopher Halm, 65, of Ottawa, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Dr. Joel Badal of the River Valley Church in Ottawa, officiating. A private burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday before the service.

Tom was born on February 22, 1957 in Ottawa to Rudolph “Rudy” and Rosina “Rose” (Kastler) Halm. He worked as a union electrician for IBEW Local 176 for 45 years. Tom married Carol Aeschleman on October 23, 1981 in Ottawa. He attended River Valley Evangelical Free Church in Ottawa. Tom enjoyed fishing, being an electrician, fixing things, and being a great Dad and Grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Halm, of Ottawa; his four children, Sarah (Sean) Smith, of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Rachel (Matthew) Chisholm, of Sebewaing, MI, Jacob (Madeline) Halm, of Eagleville, TN, Joseph Halm, of Billings, MT; four grandchildren; and a brother, Gary (Joyce) Halm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Rose.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Josiah Venture Ministry of Sean and Sarah Smith (#210630) or the River Valley Church in Ottawa.

Tom has been laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper in Oakwood Memorial Park.
