Eileen (Fosse) Hoxsey, 99, of Serena, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Church, Ottawa with Rev. Gary Castor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Eileen was born January 20, 1923 in Ottawa to George and Helen (Pillion) Fosse. She married Woodrow E. Hoxsey on March 10, 1945, and they spent the next 50 years farming and raising a family near Serena. Eileen was a realtor with Century 21 Windsor Realty for over 30 years and she enjoyed volunteering at OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Mission Church in Wedron, the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, the LaSalle County Republican Women’s Club, and the Community Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her four children, Kristine Hoxsey of Cape Cod, MA, Bradley (Christine) Hoxsey of Minnetonka, MN, Patricia (John) Bennington of Burnsville, MN, and Thomas (Patricia) Hoxsey of Grand Ridge; six grandchildren, Sarah Wieremann of Lake Elmo, MN, Mary Shrif, of Oldsmar, FL, Abigail Hoxsey of Minnetonka, MN, Bradley Hoxsey of Lake Geneva, WI, Randall Hoxsey of Grand Ridge, and Phillip Hoxsey of Grand Ridge; five great-grandchildren Cooper, Maya, Lia, Addison, and Ryker; a sister, Connie Barto of Mission Viejo, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Woodrow on December 8, 2010; two brothers, Wayne and George Fosse; and one sister, Marjorie Schroff.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

She was laid to rest in the Sanctuary of Prayer.
