Eric Alden Davis, age 51, of Streator, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at St. Margaret’s Health in Peru.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10th at Harvest Baptist Church, 420 East Stevenson Road in Ottawa with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Pallbearers will be Eric’s son, Lance Davis; brothers, Steve Davis and Jim Davis; brother-in-law, Blaine Howell; son-in-law, Curtis Vest; and nephew, Jason Cole. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Eric was born January 19, 1971 in Spring Valley, Illinois, son of Alden F. Davis and Marilyn V. (Bodenhamer) Davis. He married Laura Howell December 7, 1991 in Lincoln, Illinois. Surviving are his parents, Alden F. (Kathy) Davis of Anamosa, IA and Marilyn V. Davis of Spring Valley; his wife, Laura; children, Lance (Rachael) Davis of Streator and Holly (Curtis) Vest of Washington, IA; He also leaves brothers, Stephen (Carla) Davis of Crown Point, IN and James (Angela) Davis of McDonough, GA; sisters, Melody Cole of Spring Valley and Amy Menne of Pekin; grandchildren, Ariella Davis, Clark Davis, Liam Davis, Wyatt Vest and Bailey Vest. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Cole who was like a brother to Eric.
Eric was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Ottawa. He dearly loved his family, particularly his grandchildren. His leisure time would find Eric enjoying the great outdoors with his grandchildren.
He is laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
