Janel S. White, 63, of Pekin passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Ottawa Pavilion. A memorial gathering in Janel’s honor will be held at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangements. Janel was born July 7, 1950 in Ottawa, Illinois to Thomas and Nola (McKibben) Hiland. She was a graduate of Dayton Grade School, Ottawa High School, and Illinois State University where she received her BS in Education. She retired as the Chief Probation Officer of Tazewell County. She is survived by her two sisters, Laurel Eichelkraut of Ottawa and Rhonda (Brad) Dooley of Long Grove; one brother, Terrence (Joanne) Hiland of Mountain Grove, Missouri; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. Memorials ma be directed to House of Hope in Peoria or the American Cancer Society.
She was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Prayer.
