Bart Kirkman, 47, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, October 8 at St. Patrick’s Church, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, prior to services, at the church. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Per the CDC guidance, masks and social distancing will be required.

Bart was born at Ryburn King Hospital in Ottawa on October 18, 1973 to Peter and Linda (Maccono) Kirkman. Bart was a graduate of Ottawa High School. He married Jennifer Kirkpatrick, and together they had two children, Jordan and Logan. Bart worked as a manager at Minit Mart in Morris. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed a good game of golf. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago White Sox. Most importantly, Bart loved spending time with his family. He always looked forward to watching Jordan’s dance recitals and plays; and he loved watching Logan at his soccer matches and taekwondo class.

He is survived by his parents, Pete and Linda; his former wife, Jen; his children, Jordan and Logan Kirkman; his brother, Thomas (Lynda) Kirkman; his nephews, Drew and Dean Kirkman; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon (Helen) Kirkman; and his maternal grandparents, Jim (Laurie) Maccono.

He was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
