Winona (Stewart) Bartlett, 88, of Ottawa, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Pleasant View, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.

Winona was born on January 31, 1933 in Laurel, MS to LT and Ethel (Mobley) Stewart. She married Lewis Bartlett on December 26, 1977, in Ottawa. Winona worked for many years at her father’s bakery, growing up. She also worked for a jewelry store in Mississippi, before moving to Illinois. While raising her children, she worked at J.C Penny’s in Ottawa and then took a job as a secretary for a local law firm and worked there for over 20 years, until retiring. She was very active in the community and women’s organizations. She was politically involved as well, and ran for Circuit Clerk. Winona enjoyed baking and gardening, especially her flowers. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her whole world.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley D. Johnson of Ottawa and Joe S. Johnson of California; three step-daughters, Candy (Randy) Long and Deanne (Joe) Arkfeld of Denver, CO and Kimberly (Frank) Orsini of Ottawa; eight grandchildren, Amie (John) Johnson-Salkowski, Melissa (Chad) Knottek, Michael Johnson, Arron (Anna) Johnson, Sally Katie (Bryan) Green, Dusty Johnson, and Matthew and Megan Orsini; ten great grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony (Brooke), Austin (Alexa), and Jake Knottek, Bradley Collette, and Danny Green, and Scarlett, Benjamin, and Louisa Johnson; three great great-grandchildren, Caroline, Greyson and Brantley Knottek; three sisters, Pat Busby of MS, Anita Richardson of TX, and Louise Holifield of MS; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lewis; and her first husband Joe Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, and Jessica, Anthony, Austin, and Jake Knottek.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
