Edward Earl Allen, Sr., age 80, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, April 25th with his loving family at his side.

Per Ed’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held. Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Ed was born April 22, 1941 in Ottawa, a son of Otha and Marjorie Pearl (Rentz) Allen. He married Zelda Dubach August 20, 1960 in Naplate. He is survived by Zelda, his devoted wife of 60 years; children, Edward (Della) Allen, Jr. and Marie (Christopher) Koepke all of Ottawa; sisters, Karen (Melvin) Hoffman of Bradenton, FL and Pat (Scott) Greenhalgh of Englewood, FL; sisters-in-law, Nancy Allen of Big Canoe, GA and Julie Allen of Porterville, CA. He also leaves grandchildren, Edward (Ashley) Allen III, Christina (Ben) Considine, Caitlyn (Rob Conway) Allen, Logan, Chandler and Ciara Koepke; and great grandchildren, Kailee and Connor Considine and John Conway. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim and Bill Allen.

Ed was owner and operator of Hank’s Farm for the past 43 years. He dearly loved and cherished time spent with his family. Memorial contributions may be directed to a local charity of the donor’s choice in lieu of flowers.

He was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Hymns.
