Patricia Gerding, 88, of Ottawa, died on Wednesday, July 19 at Pleasant View.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 28, in St. Columba Church in Ottawa with the Rev. David Kipfer, Pastor, officiating.   Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.  Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Pat was born on October 8, 1928 in Ottawa to Peter and Frances (Hellman) Callahan.  She married William A. Gerding on July 23, 1949 at St. Columba Church. She was a member of St. Columba Church, and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a librarian at the Reddick Library until 1985.

Pat is survived by 3 daughters, Diane Vazquez, of Gurnee,  Susan (Michael) Partin, of Ottawa,  and Jeri Gerding, of Peru, 4 grandchildren, Marissa Brandt, Rick Vazquez, Kelly Wilson, and Megan Partin, and 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia Partin and Amy and Jaxon Wilson, and 3 sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Barla, of Seneca, Bonnie (Dominic) Verona, of Ottawa, and Mary Ann (Jim) Schwarzbach, of Geneva.

She was preceded in death by her husband on February 12, 2014, one brother William Callahan, and two sisters, Jane Eurich and Carol Mackey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Reddick Library.

Pallbearers will be:  Mike Partin, Brian Barla, Patrick Wilson, Rick Vazquez, Keith Eurich, and Bill Devore.

Pat has been laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
