MARSEILLES — Marjorie Angell, 88, of Marseilles, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, April 08, 2017 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Noon Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Clark of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene and Marjorie’s grandson, Rev. Matthew Angell officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 to Noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marjorie was born June 22, 1928, in Marseilles, a daughter of James and Bertha LaVern (Mason) Roe. She married Arthur William Angell, Sr. on June 7, 1949 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death January 19, 1994. She is survived by four sons, William J. (Peppy) Angell of North Augusta, SC, Arthur W. Angell, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL., Steven R. (Susan) Angell of Marseilles, and Robert D. Angell of Ottawa; four daughters, Pamela (Andy) Trowbridge of Ottawa, Connie (John) Castanien of Riverdale, GA., Marsha (Vinnie Schmitt) Tibbetts of Jacksonville, FL, and Melissa (Donald, Jr.) Gaddis of LaSalle; twenty grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves three brothers, James Roe and Henry (Miriam) Roe both of Marseilles and Thomas (Allie) Roe of Princeton; three sisters, Phyllis Stone of Rockdale, Ill., Judy Mossier of Michigan and Nancy Anderson of Alaska. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Jean and a sister, Ruth Garrison.

Marjorie was a retired employee of Ottawa General Hospital. She had also served as a waitress in various restaurants. She enjoyed participating in women’s bowling leagues, drawing and playing Bingo. She was an avid Cubs fan. Memorial contributions may be directed to Marseilles Church of the Nazarene or to the family.
