Donald “Don” D. Bruno, 82, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Fevlo officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, January 2 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Don was born November 14, 1934 in Chicago to James and Agnes (Nelson) Bruno. He married Lorraine Matuszak October 27, 1956 at Immaculate Conception in Chicago. He was a long time member of the Starved Rock Yacht Club. He served as a crossing guard for the Ottawa Elementary Schools and was owner-operator of CarX/Automax of Ottawa.

Don is survived by his three children, Gina (Mike) Montgomery and Donna (Steve) Burke, and Steve Bruno all of Ottawa; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Dan) Wolowicz of Bolingbrook, Laura (Marissa) Champion of Kenosha, Wi, Michael (Amber) Burke of Ottawa, Melanie (Jamie) Burke of Tampa Fl., Marissa (Mike) Meyer of Orland Park, Samantha Bruno of Ottawa, and Katie Bruno of Ottawa; eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Marilyn (John) Balestri of Alsip, and Betty Soljacich of Palos Heights.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and three brothers, Frank, Larry and Junior Bruno.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.

Don has been laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Love.
