Phyllis Monterastelli, 92, of Ottawa passed away Monday, November 14, 2016 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 – 12:00, prior to services, Thursday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Phyllis was born November 15, 1924 in Ottawa, Illinois to Arthur and Grace (Gibbons) Bluer. She married Nello J. Monterastelli on May 18, 1941 in Crown Point, Indiana; he passed away October 28, 2012. She was a member of St. Columba Church and a quilting club. She previously worked for Press Drugs, LaSalle County Court House, Shephard School, and Dr. Ewers office.

She is survived by three children, David (Janet) Monterastelli, Diane (Joseph) Inman, and Deborah (Allan) Patarozzi; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nello; one granddaughter, Jodi Marshall; one sister, Arlene Harris; and one brother, Harold Bluer.

Pallbearers will be David Monterastelli, Chad Marshall, Angela Poland, Meghan Patarozzi, Joshua Gautschy, and Allan Patarozzi.

Memorials may be directed to St. Columba Church or Vitas Hospice, 105 Marquette St, LaSalle, IL 61301.

Phyllis has been laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
