Jerry McIntosh, 74, of rural Ottawa, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa, with Rev. Kevin Donoho, Pastor and Rev. Eric Stuepfert, a nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, where full Military Rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Jerry was born on Feb. 23, 1942, in Chancellor, AL to Ray and Louise (Watson) McIntosh. He attended Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama, and Illinois Valley Community College. Jerry worked for GE Plastics for 34 years. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Jerry married Sandra Morgan on February 12, 1966, in Lakeland, FL. He was a member of Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene.

Jerry loved God with his whole heart and lived with integrity and compassion for others. There did not seem to be a problem he couldn’t fix. He was a talented builder, electrician and mechanic and never failed to use his talents to make others’ lives better. He was devoted to his church of more than 40 years, Southside Church of the Nazarene, and served there in all capacities, from maintaining the building and property to greeting those attending with a warm smile and handshake. Jerry continued his support and devotion when the Southside Church joined Crossbridge, and particularly appreciated participating in the small group studies.

Jerry was the consummate gentleman who lived to serve others and God. In addition, he loved spending time with his family, fishing, reading, and discussing world events with his daughters. He returned to his hometown every year to visit beloved family members. The past several summers, he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren in Siesta Key, Florida.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sandra, 3 daughters, Amanda (Francis) Schwartz, of Sarasota, FL, Susan (Michael) McIntosh Boland, of Sheboygan, WI, and Lyn McIntosh, of Bourbonnais, and 7 grandchildren, Aleah Schwartz, Emily, Elizabeth, Rachel and Mary Grace Boland, and Jackson and Layla Wade, and many beloved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles, a granddaughter, Louise Boland, a grandson, Nathan Schwartz, his in laws David and Mildred Morgan.

Pallbearers will be: Jack Blythe, Frank Schwartz, Mike Boland, Jackson Wade, Tony McIntosh, and Larry Wayne Kiest, Jr.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Jerry has been laid to rest in the Garden of Inspiration.
