Heather L. Koenig (nee Swedler), 66, from Ottawa, Illinois formerly from Harvey, Illinois died peacefully on September 19, 2016 at the age of 66. Heather was born on January 28, 1950.
Her graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 23, 2016 at Oakwood Memorial Park, 2405 Champlain Street in Ottawa, with Rev. Agustin Kassa officiating. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with her services.
She is survived by her sister, Linola Totel; brothers, John (Bonnie) Swedler and Eugene (Debbie) Swedler. The great joys of her life were her numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margo Aldridge and Cheryl Lynn Swedler.
Heather loved animals. She rescued many pets and found them loving homes. She was an avid fan of the Chicago sports teams. She had many artistic talents especially baking cookies for her family. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local pet shelter in Heather’s name.
Heather has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
