FREEPORT — Greg A. Pearson, 58, of Freeport, died Thursday, March 31, at his home.

Born Jan. 27, 1958, in San Diego, Calif., he was the son of Julius and Audrey (Sjolin) Pearson. He married Dorrie Ann Sarver on April 22, 1978, and she died Oct. 31, 2013.

Greg was honorably discharged from the United States Army on Feb. 26, 1986.

He was a CNC machinist working for Danfoss in Freeport for almost 30 years.

Surviving are his parents of California, his fiancé, Laurel M. Brashaw, of Freeport; his children, Brandy (Jeff) Brown, of Forreston, Mischelle Pearson, of Freeport, and his son, Gregory Pearson, of Forreston; his sister, Shaleen Pearson, of Illinois; his brothers, Tim (Sue) Pearson, Mike (Claire) Pearson, and Chris (Kelly) Pearson, all of California; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Cremations rites will be accorded.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at First United Methodist Church in Forreston. Private services will be held at a later date in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL.

A memorial has been established in his name.
