Walter Mumper, 81, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 29 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m., two hours prior to the services, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Walter was born October 17, 1934 in Ottawa to Albert and Rowena (Kerste) Mumper. He served in the United States Army from September 28, 1957 until March 27, 1958 and continued his services in the National Guard Reserves from March 27, 1958 until July 31, 1963. Walter enjoyed building model airplanes and skydiving; he dove over 500 jumps. He was a member of the Model Airplane Association.

He is survived by one sister, Donna Mumper; one brother, William Mumper; his dog Willy, whom he loved dearly; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Edward, Albert, David, Donald and Gilbert Mumper, and Irene Bundy.

Pallbearers will be Jason Joyce, Joshua, Jimmy, and Kevin Farrell, John Guerrero, and Chad Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Pacenka and Jack Finnegan.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Walter is laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
