Howard Eltrevoog, 92, of Ottawa, died Tuesday night, Feb. 2, at the Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, in Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, with Rev. Tim Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Howard was born on July 6, 1923, in Lisbon Twp. in Minooka, to Andrew and Christina (Myre) Eltrevoog. He was schooled in the Edgcomb School Dist. 182 and the Dayton School. Howard worked on the farm and the Seneca Shipyard during the war, and was an automotive technician for 51 years. He operated the Howard Standard Service Station for 16 years. Howard was a member of the Society of Automotive Testers, Chevy Tech Club, Dr. of Motors, Charter member of Sons of Norway, Cleng Peerson Lodge 525 Norway, IL and AARP. He volunteered at the Kidde Klub, the Norsk Museum, where he was past president, and the Sons of Norway, where he was an officer. Howard volunteered more than 10,000 total hours. He married Florence “Flossie” Johnson on July 9, 1944 in the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Ottawa. Howard was a member of Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Marjorie Granby, of Tampa, Florida, 2 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Truman Eltrevoog, of Nevada, and Orville (Delores) Eltrevoog, of Ottawa, and one sister, Helen (Glen) Marten, of Ottawa,

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Florence, on Feb. 6, 2010, 4 brothers, Ebert, Lawrence, Bjarne and Arthur, a sister in infancy, and son in law G. William Granby.

Pallbearers will be Mike Eltrevoog, Sr., Bill Meyer, Larry Speed, Rene Noble, Bob Eltrevoog, and Dave Eltrevoog.

Memorials may be directed to Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church or the Norsk Museum.

Howard is laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion.
