George Guibor, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

George Guibor, of Scottsdale AZ, passed away peacefully Jan. 13, 2015.  He was born January 1, 1930 in Chicago.  He is survived by four children, Bryck, Jeff, and Garth Guibor, and Heather West.  He grew up in Ottawa and married his grade school sweetheart Barbara Varland, for 65 years.  He attended Northwestern University and served in the United States Navy.  George worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass, farmed the family farm, and managed many properties.  A memorial service will be at 9:00 am September 25, 2015 at Oakwood Memorial Park.

George is laid to rest in the Garden of Inspiration.

Donald F. Keegan, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

Donald F. Keegan, 80, of Ottawa died on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Private burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Donald was born June 11, 1935, in Clinton, Iowa to John and Mary (VanLoo) Keegan. He married Patricia Stricklin on April 27, 1963, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ottawa. Donald served in the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post 33 in Ottawa.

He is survived by his two sons, Kraig Keegan of Hoffman Estates, Keith (Dawn) Keegan of Marseilles; two grandsons, Nicholas and Trevor Keegan; one brother, Allen Keegan of Clinton, Iowa; and one sister Patricia Miller of Davenport, Iowa.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Patricia, on January 9, 2009, and one sister, Geraldine Sterns.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.

Donald is laid to rest in the Garden of Psalms.

Howard Eldon Jackson, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

Howard Eldon Jackson, 72, of Ottawa, died on Thursday morning, September 17, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. J. Lerette, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Howard was born on October 4, 1942, to Howard Gordon and Daisy Marie (Moss) Jackson. He married to Mary Jane Mellott on November 9, 1969 in West Brooklyn. She died on February 5, 1995. Howard worked for the railroad.

He is survived by a son Kevin Jackson, of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Evelyn D. Day, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

MIDDLETON, WI-Evelyn D. Day, age 95, passed away on August 13, 2015 in Middleton, WI.  She was born in Burlington, IA on January 28, 1920, the daughter of William and Emily Neal.  The family returned to England in 1926.  Upon leaving school she joined the WAAF and served as a sergeant in Coastal Command during WWII.    She married Lewis M. Day on May 13, 1942 in Mickleham, Surrey, England.  They emigrated to America in August, 1953 and lived and worked in Ottawa, IL.  Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at Wilcox Paint Company.  In December of 2011, she moved to Madison, WI.  Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Ann, grandson, Ian and his wife, Wendy, and her great-granddaughter Kelsey.  Her brother, Tom Neal and brother-in-law, Ken Miles are still living in England.  Evelyn kept in close touch with her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S., Canada and England and hearing from them was a joy to her.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994.  A memorial service will be held at the EVANGELICAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1116 Illinois Ave., Ottawa, IL. At 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 with Pastor Grace Oh officiating.  Fellowship will follow the service in the Church Hall.  Interment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park, N. Champlain St., Ottawa, IL.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church where Mother was a long-time member.  She was very grateful for the loving support she received from friends and family during her last years in Wisconsin.   That same loving support from family, including her cousins Ed and Karen Grude, and her friends in Ottawa was extended to her immediate family and was a source of great comfort.  During the last months Agrace Hospice staff and the nursing staff of Artisan Assisted Living gave Evelyn expert and tender care for which her family will be forever grateful.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
