MIDDLETON, WI-Evelyn D. Day, age 95, passed away on August 13, 2015 in Middleton, WI.  She was born in Burlington, IA on January 28, 1920, the daughter of William and Emily Neal.  The family returned to England in 1926.  Upon leaving school she joined the WAAF and served as a sergeant in Coastal Command during WWII.    She married Lewis M. Day on May 13, 1942 in Mickleham, Surrey, England.  They emigrated to America in August, 1953 and lived and worked in Ottawa, IL.  Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at Wilcox Paint Company.  In December of 2011, she moved to Madison, WI.  Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Ann, grandson, Ian and his wife, Wendy, and her great-granddaughter Kelsey.  Her brother, Tom Neal and brother-in-law, Ken Miles are still living in England.  Evelyn kept in close touch with her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S., Canada and England and hearing from them was a joy to her.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994.  A memorial service will be held at the EVANGELICAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1116 Illinois Ave., Ottawa, IL. At 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 with Pastor Grace Oh officiating.  Fellowship will follow the service in the Church Hall.  Interment will be at Oakwood Memorial Park, N. Champlain St., Ottawa, IL.  Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church where Mother was a long-time member.  She was very grateful for the loving support she received from friends and family during her last years in Wisconsin.   That same loving support from family, including her cousins Ed and Karen Grude, and her friends in Ottawa was extended to her immediate family and was a source of great comfort.  During the last months Agrace Hospice staff and the nursing staff of Artisan Assisted Living gave Evelyn expert and tender care for which her family will be forever grateful.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
