Carol Anne Hitchins, 78, of Traverse City, MI formerly of Earlville, IL passed away, Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.  She was born September 12, 1937 in Virden, IL the daughter of Thomas and Althea (Richards) Heyworth.  She married R. Eldon “Hitch” on November 27, 1960 in Ottawa, IL.  Carol was a member of Earlville United Methodist Church.  She was a Mary Kay consultant for many years, as well as a distributor for Market America. After Hitch passed away she moved to Chicago to be closer to her daughter, she made a lot of great friends at The Breakers in Chicago.  Her daughter got married and moved to Michigan months later Carol moved to Michigan when she found out that her daughter and son-in-law were going to have a baby girl so she could be with them.  Carol greatly enjoyed being a grandmother to Kendall.  Carol developed many great friendships at Glen Eagle Senior Living Community in Traverse City, MI.

She is survived by one daughter, Holli ( Shawn) Harvey of Traverse City, MI, one granddaughter Kendall; one brother, Thomas (Brenda) Heyworth of Joliet, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband R. Eldon “Hitch”, one grandchild Adia Harvey and two sons in infancy.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL with Pastor Del Keilman officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2015 in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.  For more information or to sign the online guest book go to www.EighnerFuneralHomes.com
