Barry W. Smith Jr., 44, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his home.
Funeral Ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, August 17, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor David E. Daniel of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday prior to services at Ottawa Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. He will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date.
Barry was born September 19, 1970 in Ottawa, IL. His parents are Barry Sr. and Sandra (Giese) Smith. Barry took great pride in his work as a Bully Breeder. He was an avid dirt bike rider, enjoyed snowmobiling, fixing and racing cars. He loved spending time with his family and hanging out with his buddies.
He is survived by one son, Dustin Smith; one daughter, Claudia Smith; his beloved girlfriend, Jessica Gould; his mother, Sandra (Chakib) Smith-Doghmi; step-mother, Connie Phillips; five siblings, Corrie (Richard) Carver, Scott, Tony, Todd, and Wendy Gould; two cousins, Bruce Lampson and Laura Vahl; four nieces and nephews, Alexis, Grace, Logan, and Ian Carver.
He is preceded in death by his father, Barry W. Smith, Sr.; and his grandparents, Fred Smith Sr. and Lucille “Tiny” Carr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Lampson, Jason and Jimmy O’Brien, Jamie Thompson, Randy Poole, Steven Johnson, Leo Schunke, Chris Brockman, and Steve Cook.
Memorials may be directed to his family.
Barry is laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
