James A. Prevot, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

James A. Prevot, 86, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with his cremation rites.  Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Jim was born May 10, 1929 in Naplate, Illinois to Arthur and Annie (Voytik). He married Izzy Bravick on August 9, 1952 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He retired from Ottawa High School as the head of maintenance where he worked from 1964 – 1985. He was a renaissance man that had many talents and gifts who loved to work with his hands. Jim enjoyed working on his miniature trains and RC flyers.

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Just and Kimberly (Bruce) Waite; one son, Lonnie Prevot; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Izzy.

Memorials may be directed to the donors choice.

James is laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
