Joseph W. Nanouski, 90, of Naplate passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Illinois Veteran’s Home in LaSalle.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11:00 – 1:00, two hours prior to services, on Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park, with Military Services.

Joseph was born December 8, 1924 in Ottawa, Illinois to Michael and Katherine (Yaleczo)Nanouski. He retired from LOF after 25 years of service. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater on the USS-SCC-1066 Sub Chaser.

He is survived by his sons, Tom (Kim) and Jerry Nanouski; one son-in-law, Jerome DeBernardi; his former daughter-in-law, Kathy Nanouski; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Callaway, Tommie (Sarah) Nanouski, Chad (Amy) Nanouski, Jeremy (Molly) DeBernardi, Sarah Nanouski, Ashley (Bob) Bartman, and Teegan Nanouski; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Michael Nanouski; and one sister, Theresa Ekdahl.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Dee Ann Debernardi, his former wife, Pat Nanouski; two brothers, Bill and Steve Nanouski, and five sisters, Anna Kolotka, Mary Potasky, Olga Budach, Pauline Carner, and Amelia (Mickey) Moats.

Pallbearers will be Jerome and Jeremy DeBernardi, Tommie and Chad Nanouski, Ronnie Callaway, and Bob Bartman.

In lieu of flowers the families wishes are to make donations to the Veteran’s Home in LaSalle.

Joseph is laid to rest in the Garden of Hymns.
