Betty Jean Jett, 83, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Stevenson officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Daniel and David Jett, Frank Neumann IV, Ryan Grieves, Aaron Howell, Jr., and Kevin Robinson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Aiden Davis.

Betty was born September 13, 1931 in Tipton, Indiana, the daughter of Bert and Bertha (Perkins) Robinson.  She married Foster Jett April 23, 1949 in Ottawa.  Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Foster, of Ottawa; her children, Daniel Jett of Compton, IL, Denice (Edward) Raines of Hobson, Montana, and Dalinda Thompson of La Salle; her grandchildren, David Jett, Shawnda Winter, Edward (April) Raines, Tracy Grieves, Frank X. Neumann IV, and Lindsey Davis; eight great grandchildren, Ryan Grieves, Jace Winter, Mason Neumann, Victoria Raines, Aiden Davis, and Makylie, Jaxsen, and Gemma  Leffelman; four step great grandchildren, Aaron Jr. and Leanne Howell, and Austin and Ashley Rinebold; two brothers, Raymond Robinson of Dayton, IL and Jackie (Joyce) Robinson of Earlville; and three sisters, Frances Watkins of Bacliff, TX, Hazel Weatherly of Cabat, AR, and Barbara (Richard) Powell of Jacksonville, AR.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Miller and Birdie Sorcie; and three brothers, David, Winfred, and Elmer Robinson.

Betty was a member of Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene and belonged to various church groups there.  Her pastimes included crocheting and knitting.  She also enjoyed reading a good book.  Her most treasured times were the times spent spoiling her grandchildren.  Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Betty is laid to rest in the Sanctuary of Love.
