Barbara C. Maltas, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at Rivershores HealthCare and Rehabilitation Centre.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles with Pastor Dave Meyer and Pastor James Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.
She was born December 25, 1936 in West Allis, WI to Henry and Selma (Hoffman) Heitl. In 1955, she married Dale Maltas of Ottawa who survives.
She was a member of the Marseilles First Baptist Church, and a member and past President of the Marseilles Lioness Club
Barbara is survived by her husband, Dale; two daughters, Brenda (Ron) Johnson of Marseilles and Janet (David) Flaa of Morris; four sons, William of Fulton, IL, Tim (Nancy) of Spring Valley, Mike (Joanne) of Streator and John (Sharon) of Ottawa; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Megan; five sisters, Gladys, Dorothy, Grace, Ruth and Pearl; and four brothers, Sonny, Howard, Henry and George.
Memorials may be given to the Marseilles First Baptist Church.
Barbara is laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
