Aalyssa Stokes Lucas, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Aalyssa Stokes Lucas, 13, of Peru, IL, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at her home.

Funeral Services will be at 5:00 pm Tuesday, March 29, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 – 5:00 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Aalyssa was born December 1, 2008, in Ottawa, IL, to Douglas Stokes and Mary Lucas.

She was a student at Parkside Middle School. She liked to play sports and loved animals and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Lucas; her stepfather, Chris Yarman; her brothers, Cody (Madeline) Stokes and Jeremy; step-sister, Ella Yarman; her grandparents, Dyle and Margaret Stokes, Susan and William Schweickert, and Susan and Tom Barett, her uncle, Dyle (Kristen) Stokes JR; her cousins, Trent (Britney) Stokes, Sydney, Logan Stokes and many more aunts, uncles and cousins in the area.

Aalyssa was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Stokes.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of Hymns.

Murry Ahearn, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Murry Ahearn, 95, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa with Rev. Gary Caster, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Murry was born October 14, 1926 in Ottawa to Daniel and Margaret (Murray) Ahearn. He married Elsie Hoffman on January 20, 1951 in Ottawa. Murry retired from L.O.F. after 30 years of service and was a lifelong farmer in Grand Ridge. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Columba Church, and the LaSalle County Farm Bureau. Murry especially enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is survived by his four children, Susan (Jim) Spence, Tom (Mary Jo) Ahearn, Dennis (Dawn) Ahearn, and Terry (Jenny) Ahearn, all of Ottawa, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsie Ahearn; and a son, Phillip Ahearn.

Pallbearers will be Matt, Jacob, Dustin, Julie, Thomas J. and Sarah Ahearn, Nick and Rodney Spence, Tricia Flavel, Anna Ahearn and Deanna Kuester.

He was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
