Patricia Ann (Deckard) Baxter, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Patricia Ann (Deckard) Baxter, 87, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Patricia was born November 15, 1932, in Ottawa to Lindsay and Zelda (Lyle) Deckard. She married Raymond N. Baxter on February 19, 1956 at the First United Methodist Church.

Patricia worked at Ryburn and OSF Hospital for 30 years. She loved spending time with her family and had a love of going to the family farm. She was a caring wife, mother, and grandmother and was the matriarch of the family. She has 41 grandchildren, and she knew and loved them all; she was the best.

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Raymond; two sons, Randall (Connie) Baxter of Springfield and James (Christine) Baxter of Ottawa; two daughters, Patricia (Terry) Bailey of Prairie Center, IL and Susan (Andre) Brockman of Grand Ridge; fourteen grandchildren, Travis, Joshua, Lindsay, Colt, James, Brandon, Michael, Nicole, Jacob, Cody, Bridget, Brittany, Andrea, and Andre; 26 great-grandchilren, with one on the way in May; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Zelda and Lindsay; her parents-in-law, Vaughn and Doris Baxter; two brothers, Donald and Gerald Deckard; and one sister, Bea Rockford.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.

She was laid to rest in the Garden of inspiration.

Joanne P. Ferguson, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Joanne P. Ferguson, 76, of Peru, passed away March 24, 2020 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.
Graveside services will be Tuesday March 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa with Father Peter Pilon officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.
Joanne was born March 14, 1944 in Mendota to Estel and Elsie (Stahl) Fenwick.
Joanne was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ottawa. She worked for Libbey-Owens Glass Plant in Ottawa for over 20 years. She also worked for Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing Plant in Normal before retiring. She enjoyed playing tennis and loved watching wrestling and basketball along with other sports.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Jim) Irvin of Peru; two sons Chad Summers of Addison and Dale (Vicky) Summers of Plainfield; four stepchildren Sandy Ferguson, Tim Ferguson, Pete Ferguson and Scott Ferguson; three sisters Mary Ellen Rider of Grand Forks, ND., Carroll Rogers of Ottawa and Lynn (Ray) Rebuck of Cape Coral, FL. and three grandchildren Ryan Summers, Katrina Summers Irvin and Conner Irvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion.

Alberta “June” Mennie, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Alberta “June” Mennie, 89, of Ottawa, died on Thursday afternoon, March 26, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Private services were on Monday, March 30, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa with Rev. Michael Driscoll, officiating. Interment followed in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum. Arrangements are through the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

June was born on May 27, 1930 in Ottawa to Albert and Eva (Kleckner) Charlier.
June was a member of St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, and the Women of the Moose.
She was employed at Luminous Processes and worked in the cafeteria at St. Patrick Grade School. She married Leonard Mennie on June 18, 1951, at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa. She was an outstanding mother and put her son’s needs and desires ahead of her own.

She is survived by one son, Keith, of Ottawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on Feb. 4, 2019, and on sister Louise Jerde.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She was laid to rest in the Sanctuary of Peace.
