Bernardine M. Fiorini, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

Bernardine M. Fiorini, 85, of Ottawa passed away Monday November 30, 2015 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Rev. Augustin Kassa officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with prayers at 3:45 p.m. at Ottawa Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Bernie was born August 14, 1930 in Ottawa, Illinois to Bernard and Angela (Salawa) Eichelkraut. She married Geno Fiorini on February 13, 1954, at St. Columba Church. She was a retired nurse working at the local hospitals. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the America’s.

She is survived by one son, Richard Fiorini; two daughters, Julie Fiorini, and Gina (Bill) Hogan all of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Cody and Mike Hogan of Ottawa and Amy (Kelly) Putnam of Oklahoma; and one sister, Andrea (Gus) Gustafsen of Cherry Valley.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Jerry Eichelkraut.

Pallbearers will be Cody Hogan, Mike Hogan, John Grieves, Mike Reynolds, and Allen Ackley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Ciszewski, Mike Dettore, and Kevin Berry

Memorials may be directed to St. Francis of Assisi Church or to the family.

Bernardine is laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Life.

Christopher "Bryd" Smith, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

Christopher “Bryd” Smith, 20, of Ottawa passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at his home.

Funeral Ceremony will be held at noon Friday, November 27, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to noon at the church prior to services. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory.

Christopher was born February 26, 1995 in Streator, Illinois. His parents are Brandie Smith and Chris Wilson. He was raised by his mother, Deacon Derrell Redmond, and his church. Since June of 1997 Chris lived in Ottawa, Clinton, Iowa, and Streator. He was a talented a tattoo artist and enjoyed skateboarding. Chris loved his friends and family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Chris met Jesus the last year of his life and enjoyed praying with his dad Straw. His caregiver, Deborah Richter read the Bible to him from start to finish; they finished reading it October 17, 2015. He always wanted the best for his brothers and was a proud uncle. He loved to smile a lot!

He is survived by his parents, Brandie Redmond-Smith, Deacon Derrell Redmond both of Ottawa, and Chris Smith of Streator; his grandmother, Betty Brown of Memphis, TN; godmother, Hidie Varner; ten siblings, Damien Smith, Malcolm Prince, Kyle Prince, BJ Redmond, Rosa Williams, Elizabeth Duey, Cantrice Johnson, Talissa Wilson, Tamyra Byrne, and Aisha Skaggs; aunt, Lucretia Harrington; great aunt, Jayne Wilkerson Chainy; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his caregivers Robert Phillips and Deborah Richter.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cindy Warwick-Smith, Donald Smith, and Lettie Phillips, his great grandmother, Helen Warwick; one uncle, Darrell Brown; and his cousin, Kamiley Williams.

Pallbearers will be Michael Varner, Eric Peacock, Justin Borman, Danny McCormick, Tevin Williams, Dewane Prince, Chance Brown Jr., Chris Wilson, Tyler Cordray, Devin Cordray, and BJ Redmond.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Damien Smith, Malcolm Prince, Kyle Prince, Rosa Williams, Eric Coleman, Zander Smith, Raymond Godwin, Elizabeth Duey, Ceonna Nance, Kevin Perkins, and Stacy Redmond.

Memorials may be directed to his family.

Christopher is laid to rest in the Garden of Hymns.

Robert Peddicord, Oakwood Memorial Park Ottawa IL

Robert Peddicord, 74, of Ottawa, died on Thursday, November 19, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday at Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Sherry Stevenson, officiating. Interment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Bob was born on March 21, 1941, in Ottawa to Clifford A. and Catherine (Sutton) Peddicord. He was the Vice-President for Quality Control for Unimin Corporation for 25 years. He married Doris Fairall on October 26, 1963, at the Central Church of Christ in Streator. He was a former member of the Ottawa Elks, Ottawa Moose Lodge, and the Ottawa Boat Club.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one daughter Kim (Jeff) White, of Marseilles, and two sons, Scott (Sarabeth) Peddicord, of Prospect heights, and Todd (Melanie) Peddicord, of Fortville, Indiana, 6 grandchildren: Dustin and Alanah White, Tyler, Madelyn, Trevor, and Lydia Peddicord; one sister, Mary Susan (Jerry) Steinhour, of Bonita Springs, Florida, and two brothers, Clifford, of Racine, Wisconsin, and James, of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, John.

Memorials may be directed to Crossbridge Community Church of the Nazarene, Feed His Children Fund, or the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be: Richie Scott, John Christie, Don Baron, Archie Boe, Ed Bertrand, and Norman Strow.
