“When God calls little children to dwell with Him above. We mortals sometime question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache companies with the death of one small child, who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God’s time of calling the aged to His fold, so he picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so he takes but few to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try. The saddest word mankind knows will always be “Goodbye,” so when a little child departs, we who are left behind must realize God loves children. Angels are hard to find.”

Laila Marie Brent, infant daughter of Emily Baca and Russel Brent passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Laila will be buried in Oakwood Memorial Park Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Laila is laid to rest in Babyland.

Nancy Schultheis, 70, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 25, 2014 Shrine of Rest Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Her visitation will be 9:30 – 10:00 prior to services on Saturday Oakwood Memorial Park. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements.

Nancy was born June 2, 1943 in Ottawa, Illinois to Ralph and Catherine (Kieras) Bain. She married LeRoy Schultheis on May 14, 1986 in Ottawa; he passed away February 19, 1996.

Nancy is laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
