Karen Ann Taylor 85 of Oglesby passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on July 10th. A Service will be held in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle on Wednesday July 15th at noon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband (William “WD”) at Oakwood Cemetery in Ottawa. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10AM to the time of the service.

Karen was born on October 19, 1940 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to James and Mary (Watts) Hardy. She was raised by Ralph Snell.

She married William “WD” Taylor on July 2nd, 1965. They were married for eight years, until his untimely death on September 15th, 1973. She was employed by several local hotels for many years in the department of housekeeping. Throughout the years she loved and cherished when her family was around. She enjoyed making cinnamon rolls, playing the game Aggravation, polka dancing, shenanigans.

She is survived by her children; John Jay Schaibley of Spring Valley, Mark (Eyvonne) Schaibley of Smithland, KY., Denise (Dee) Lampson of Marseilles, Janet McGowen of Princeton, KY., Jim (Hippi) Taylor of Oglesby, Amy Taylor of Oglesby, and Zachary (Holli) Taylor of Florence, AZ. Eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by; her husband William “WD” the love of her life, her parents, James and Ethel Hardy, Mary and Ralph Snell, her son-in law; James Lampson, and five step children.
