David L. Thorson, Jr., Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

David L. Thorson, Jr., age 53, of Triumph, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Loyola University Medical Center.

David was born May 24, 1970 in Sandwich, Illinois, a son of David and Betty (Watson) Thorson. He married Kimberly Wilson July 17, 1993 at Grand Ridge, Illinois. Surviving are his loving wife, Kim; his children Nicklaus Thorson and Leslee Thorson; a brother, Michael Thorson; sister, Angie Thorson; mother and step-father Betty and Jerry Walker; and mother-in-law, Kay Wilson. He was preceded in death by his father, David Thorson, Sr.; a sister in infancy Victoria Thorson; and his father-in-law, Joe Wilson, Sr.

David had been employed at Hendrix Town and Country in Leland for thirty years. He loved all sports, however soccer and football were considered to be his favorites. David enjoyed the great outdoors, camping and cooking on the grill. He enjoyed many excursions to Wisconsin with Kim. Time spent with family and friends is what he treasured most.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 6th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home in Ottawa.

David was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in the Garden of Psalms.

Jordon K. Arwood, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Jordon Keely Arwood, 42, of Statesville NC passed away on December 11, 2023.  He was born on August 20, 1981 in Peoria, IL to Nancy Arwood and Larry Caulder.  Jordon received a Bachelor’s degree and worked as an independent contractor for the US Military.

Jordon has been laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa, IL.

Dale E. Lawyer, 66 of Oglesby died at 12:35p.m. September 16, 2014 in Illinois Valley Comm. Hospital, Peru. Services will be at noon on Saturday in the Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby, IL. Deacon Ray Fischer will officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral chapel. Full military honors will be conducted by the LaSalle/Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group. Dale was born October 15, 1947 in Aurora to George and Doris (Jacobs) Lawyerl. He married Katherine Ott December 16, 1978 in Ottawa. Dale retired as a welder for Caterpillar in Joliet for over 30 years and was a member of the Oglesby American Legion. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Oglesby, his beloved cats Dusty and Emmy, 2 brothers; George Lawyer of Newark and Wayne (Judy) Lawyer of Utica, nieces; Rebecca, Olivia, Georgeana, Carrie and Britney and nephews; Wayne, Jr., Jimmy and Jeremy. Emogene F. Hauge Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL

Emogene F. Hauge, 77, of Marseilles, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Ottawa Pavilion.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday May 4 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Clark of the Marseilles church of the Nazarene officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.

Emogene was born on December 11, 1946 to Barney and Emma (Munson) Hall.

She was employed as a CNA for over 30 years in the Joliet area until her retirement. She loved playing Bingo, Yahtzee, card games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Emogene is survived by her children, Bob (Chris) Hauge of Marseilles, Starlette (Paul) Hauge-Sherman of Missouri, and Richard Hauge of Rushville; thirteen grandchildren, Robbie, David, Alyssa, Melissa, Katie, Daniel, Tiffani, Brittani, Mariah, Angelica, Emily, Lola, and Dax; 14 great-grandchildren; four siblings, Caroline, Jessie, Dave, and Johnny; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, JJ, and 11 brothers and sisters.

Emogene will be laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in the Sanctuary of Peace at Oakwood Memorial Park.
