Gerald Lee Brue, 83, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ottawa, with Rev. Randy Mortenson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Gerald was born on June 26, 1941 in Ottawa to Palmer and Esther (Twait) Brue. He was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his time farming with family and siblings, attending Bethel Lutheran Church, snowmobiling, and spending time with family.
He is survived by two sisters, Ethel (Ronald) Martin, of Newark and Barbara (James) Leifheit, of Davis; a special niece, Maleen (Brian) Bauer, Ottawa; many nieces great nieces and nephews, great nephews. A special cousin Bob Brue and a special great-niece, Jessica (Mathew) Yingling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roger Brue; a sister Carolyn Thacker, nephew, Roger Brue, Jr., and niece, Patricia Thacker.
