Gloria W. Gregor, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Gloria W. (Ekstrom) Gregor, 96, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away on November 1st, 2024.

Gloria was born January 31st, 1928, in Wasco, Illinois, to Frederic and Ellen (Steele) Ekstrom. She married Clifford Charles Gregor on September 10th, 1949, in Lily Lake, Illinois.

She spent most of her life caring for and then traveling to see her children and grandchildren. Gloria was a no-nonsense Swede who spoke her mind. A very active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ and its Puritan Chapter, Gloria was also a wonderful seamstress, bridge player, and crafter. In recent years she moved to Heritage Woods where she enjoyed her neighbors, the birds outside her window, bingo, and puzzles.

She is survived by daughter Genela (Kim) Gedney, sons Randy (Tami) Gregor, and Tom (Linda) Gregor; grandchildren Megan (Chad) Cronise, Keghley Gedney, Dane (Mike Culp) Gedney, Tessa Gedney, Britta (Damian) Krabill, Hannah (Adam) Chapman, and Teegan Gregor; and great grandchildren Brandon, Emma, Camryn, Henry, Teddy and Lily.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, her parents, and her siblings — Laverne, Ray, Doris, Mary Ellen and Roger.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9th, at the Oakwood Memorial Park Chapel (2405 Champlain Street, Ottawa, Illinois, 61350) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral ceremony will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jennifer Amy-Dressler officiating. Entombment will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Gloria was laid to rest at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in the Sanctuary of Hope at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL.
