Robert Dale Blue, 68, of Seneca, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 18, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Decan Ron Wackerlin officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery in Ottawa, IL.
Bob was born on August 15, 1955, in Ottawa, to Robert and Alice (Tucker) Blue. On July 15, 1976, he married Pamela Farmer of Marseilles who survives.
Bob worked at Nabisco, Wedron Silica, and Solar Communications until his retirement in 2010. He was a man of many passions, with the love of his life always by his side. He enjoyed traveling, camping, their home in Florida, and seeking out new destinations. He especially liked trying new restaurants, browsing antique stores, and his buddy, Kitty.
The absolute joys of his life were his children and grandchildren. Nothing would put a smile on his face and pride in his heart more than all of them. He had a remarkable ability to fix anything and was always the first to offer a helping hand to family, neighbors, and friends.
Bob’s family and friends will always remember his warm smile, his sense of humor, and his unwavering kindness. He had a unique way of making everyone feel valued and loved. His wisdom and guidance were a source of strength for his family, and his legacy of love and integrity will continue to inspire all who knew him. Bob will be dearly missed by all but the life lessons he instilled in his children and grandchildren will always be remembered.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Pamela; his loving children, Justin (Katie) Blue and Jennifer (Chad) Harmon; 11 grandchildren, Jack, Braeden, Wyatt, Josie, William, Cullen, Darren Blue and Savannah, Dallas, Sierra, and Dakota Harmon; two brothers, Chris (Melony) and Randy (Terry) Blue; and one sister, Brenda Blue.
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Justin, Chris, Randy, and Jack Blue, and Chad and Dallas Harmon. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Braeden, Wyatt, William, Cullen, Darren Blue and Dakota Harmon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the family.
Robert was laid to rest in the Garden of Inspiration at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL.
