Lawrence “Larry” Allen Jr, Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa, IL

Lawrence “Larry” Allen Jr., 63, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly at his home on January 22 by the side of his loving wife.

Larry was born May 27,1961 to Lawrence and Rosemary Allen in Streator.

He began his schooling in Streator and then attended school in Marseilles when the family moved. Larry loved being around his friends and enjoyed many activities such as Cub Scouts, fishing, and anything that would occupy his spare time. As an adult, Larry taught himself how to play guitar and he and his brother Bruce would spend hours playing together. He enjoyed painting pictures for his wife and always finding projects to do on their home, including a dining room addition that he and his wife did together.

Larry loved his country and served in two of the armed services. The first being the National Guard and then serving in the Navy. Larry was United in marriage to the love of his life, Leticia Raquiza on December 18, 2002 and was blessed to have spent 22 years sharing their lives together.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Leticia, a daughter Amber and a granddaughter Alisha. He is further survived by his mother Rosemary Allen, three older sisters, Paula, Pam and Peggy and two younger brothers Brian (Peg) and Doug (Joi) Allen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence (Larry) Allen Sr. and his brother Bruce.

Upon his request there will be no services with cremation rites being entrusted to

Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

The family will miss Larry, who was a great storyteller and a guy who loved making us laugh. We find comfort in knowing he is safely back home surrounded by family who has passed before him and feeling loved.

Larry was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer, at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa IL.
