Elsie Darlene Harmon, 71 of Ottawa passed away Friday (December 21st, 2018) at St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A memorial service will be held in January at the Grace Baptist Church in Ottawa and a private burial will be held. The Grand Ridge Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Elsie was born on April 24, 1947 in Ottawa to James and Mary (Malone) Harmon.
She is survived by daughters; Mary Lela Stohr of Ottawa and Jennifer Nicole Waters of Glen Dale, CA, 2 grandchildren whom she loved deeply, Kaitlyn Giguere of Streator and Caleb Stohr of Ottawa, a brother Jim (Shirley) Harmon of Ottawa, sisters Sally (Javier) Perez of Elgin, Shirley (Ken) Gielow of Grand Ridge, Mary Lue (Bernie) Whalen of Olympia, WA, Linda (Bill Pierson) Wilkerson of Shorewood, Donna (Dave) Emerich of Ottawa, Teresa Harmon of Utah, sisters-in-law Mary Harmon of Arizona and Laurie Harmon of Ottawa, 34 nieces and nephews.
Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; John, David and Ernie Harmon, a sister Rose Marie Gross and 3 nephews.
Elsie loved to go to the local restaurants and have coffee. She loved her church family at Grace Baptist and the greatest love of her life was her grandchildren.
Elsie has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Oakwood Memorial Park.
