Mark Galvan, 62, of Streator, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday January 2, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Jon Wenger, officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines, face coverings will be required.
Mark was born on December 22, 1959 in Streator to Mark and Shirley (Woods) Galvan. He married Grace Munez on July, 1, 2006 in Utica. Mark loved to go fishing and travel. He was an explorer. Mark enjoyed talking and reading about history and politics. He was a conversationalist. Mark loved Elvis Presley, his family and his friends. He also loved the Lord with his whole heart.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; three children, Mark Galvan III of Ames, IA, Seraphina Schoenig of Ames, IA, and Abigail Galvan of Streator; four siblings, Darryl (Candy) Young of Okawville, IL, Michael (DeAnna) Galvan of Ottawa, Christine (Lance) Carr of Addieville, IL, and David (Rhonda) Galvan of Zion, IL; and his best friend Tom Flannery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Rich Woods, and his brother, Jason Galvan.
He was laid to rest in the Garden of the Last Supper.
