Ruth Meta (Pfolsgrof) Moore, 97, of Sycamore died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.
Ruth was the daughter of Peter and Ruth Bayer. She is one of eleven siblings. She attended schools in Marseilles and Ottawa. Ruth worked retail in downtown Ottawa for many years before moving to Sycamore. She taught Sunday school at Epworth Methodist Church for over 10 years. Ruth enjoyed cooking, sewing and she was an avid reader her entire life. She liked to tell people that she had a lucky birthday “7-11-21”.
Ruth always had a smile, a hug and a kiss for everyone. She loved her friends and family and will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include her son, Lanis (Julie) Pfolsgrof, step-son, Craig (Barbara) Moore; daughters, Rebecca (Gerald) Haase and Gretchen (Michael) Butts; daughter-in-law, Karen Leefers; grandchildren, Rachel Robinson, Brandon (Susan) Moore, Sarah (Eric) Handley, Troy (Sarah) Moore and Amanda Haase; great grandchildren, Jack, Lillian and Emily Handley, Corinne, Titus, Eden and Kingston Moore; sisters, Judy (Don) Miskell and Patricia Wagner; brothers, Robert (Doris) Carr and Don Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur A. Pfolsgrof and Richard F. Moore; four brothers, Vernon Bayer, Oliver, Jack and David Carr; two sisters, Jeanne Cooper and Virginia Truty.
A memorial and graveside service is pending. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa.
Ruth has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
