Lois Wielgopolan, 83, of Naplate, passed away on Monday morning, August 1, in her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Church in Naplate, with the Rev. Anthony Fevlo, and the Rev. Augustine Kassa, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Mueller Funeral Home with liturgical prayers recited at 3:30 p.m.

Lois was born August 2, 1932 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada, to Theodore and Laura (Coghlan) Guerard.

She married Raymond Wielgopolan on August 27, 1955 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. Lois worked as a surgical nurse for over 24 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Naplate and the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN).

Lois is survived by her husband, Raymond, two daughters, Susanne (Doug Krieger) Wielgopolan, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Barbara (Todd) Turnquist of Batavia, one son, Marc Wielgopolan, of Berkeley, three grandchildren, Cailley Krieger of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Alexandra and Katelyn Turnquist, of Batavia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Joan Stefurak and Billie Liddicoat, and two brothers, James Guerard, and John Guerard.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Mass Cards.

Pallbearers will be Cailley Krieger, Alexandra Turnquist, Katelyn Turnquist, Julie Wielgopolan, Doug Krieger, Todd Turnquist, and Steve Wielgopolan.

Lois has been laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer.
