Leo “Gabby” Brown, 92, of Ottawa, died on Wednesday afternoon, December 3, 2014 at the Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. Corey Krengiel, of St. Columba Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday.

Leo was born in Ottawa to Andrew and Margaret Brown. He married Shirley M. Boisso in 1944 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. He was a member of St. Columba Church, the Moose Lodge 960, Sons of the American Legion, Painters Local 465 and Laborers Local 363.

He is survived by step sister, JoAnn Cunningham, of Ottawa, step brother, James (Gloria) Hembree, Jr., of South Carolina, sister-in-law, Dorothy Boisso, of Ottawa, nieces and nephews, Molly (Darryl) Williams, of Westchester, IL, Peggy (Tony) Bagnola, of Bloomingdale, IL, John Brown, of Springfield, Mary Ellen Brown, of Spokane, WA, Andy Dudek, of Peru, Kim (Bob) Blocki, of Peru, James Brown, of DePue, Joseph (Colleen) Boisso, of Chicago, Herbert “Jim” Boisso, of Ottawa, Mary Beth (Bob) Gleason, of Shamrock, TX, Dale (Nancy) Boisso, of Irving, TX, Jeannette (Dave) Bartels, of Peru, Timothy (Susan) Boisseau, of Eureka, Rita (Tim) Morey, of Marseilles and Paul Boisso, of Providence Village, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, on August 8, 1989, his parents, his step father James Hembree, 4 brothers, George, James “Huckle”, John, and Ernest Brown, 1 sister, Margaret Brown, 4 Step-sisters,Shirley Lewis, Ethyl Wernstrom, Verna Douvia and Maxine Partridge, a brother-in-law Glenn Boisso and nephews Charles Boisso and Jerald Boisseau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mooseheart.

Leo is laid to rest in the Garden of Inspiration.
