Charlene “Nunny” Jeffries, age 88, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Kanthak House in the presence of her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 7th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Msgr. Mark Merdian officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from Noon to time of service.
Charlene was born August 25, 1938 in Rochelle, Illinois to Clyde and Mildred (Comparon) Jeffries. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Josie Jeffries, Karen Jeffries and Barb Jeffries; and nieces Vicki (Jon) Stalker and Tina (Scott) Lawry as well as many other nieces and nephews. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill, Richard, Jerry, Jim, Jon “Mick” and Clyde “Bud” Jeffries; and sisters, Jean Fox and Carole Woods
Charlene was a member of St. Columba Church. She was a beloved resident of Kanthak House for over 25 years where she enjoyed working on puzzles and coloring. She collected dolls, particularly Barbie. Mickey Mouse was her favorite character. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
