Dale E. Lawyer, 66 of Oglesby died at 12:35p.m. September 16, 2014 in Illinois Valley Comm. Hospital, Peru. Services will be at noon on Saturday in the Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby, IL. Deacon Ray Fischer will officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral chapel. Full military honors will be conducted by the LaSalle/Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group. Dale was born October 15, 1947 in Aurora to George and Doris (Jacobs) Lawyerl. He married Katherine Ott December 16, 1978 in Ottawa. Dale retired as a welder for Caterpillar in Joliet for over 30 years and was a member of the Oglesby American Legion. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Oglesby, his beloved cats Dusty and Emmy, 2 brothers; George Lawyer of Newark and Wayne (Judy) Lawyer of Utica, nieces; Rebecca, Olivia, Georgeana, Carrie and Britney and nephews; Wayne, Jr., Jimmy and Jeremy. Dale was laid to rest at Oakwood Memorial Park, Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in the Sanctuary of Love.
