Ronald “Scott” Sarles, 57, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at his home.
Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, 2 hours prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. He will be buried at Oakwood Memorial Park. Cremation rites recorded.
Scott was born February 4, 1959 in Ottawa, Illinois to Ronald and June (Staats) Sarles. He drove trucks for Waste Management and then Mayflower for many years. He was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge. Scott had a never-ending passion for NASCAR and had quite an extensive collection of NASCAR memorabilia. He enjoyed traveling and even hiked the US with a good friend. Besides being passionate about NASCAR Scott enjoyed being outdoors which included gardening, feeding the birds, and sitting in his yard watching the wildlife.
He is survived by his mother, June Clements; one sister, Michele Cioni; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Sarles; and two sisters, Rhonda Anderson and Cheryl Swartz.
