Martha L. (Neimeyer) Poggi, 69, of Aurora, IL passed away at her home surrounded by her family on September 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 4, 1955, in Aurora, Il the daughter of Fred and Mary (Chione) Neimeyer.

Martha was a vibrant soul who embraced life with a deep and unwavering love. Her heart was forever intertwined with her family and friends, and she found immense joy in the simple, meaningful moments they shared. She treasured the bonds she built over the years and lovingly referred to this circle of friends as her “tribe” that she could always rely on. Martha found peace in nature’s beauty, had a passion for traveling and cherished her family heritage, always honoring the traditions and stories that shaped her. Music was her heartbeat and her favorite band Ten Years After captured her spirit in these lyrics that she held close to her heart:

“I’d love to change the world

But I don’t know what to do

So, I’ll leave it up to you.”

Her presence brought light and warmth to those around her, and she will forever be remembered for her adventurous spirit and generous heart.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Poggi; sons, Brian Parsons and George Stathis; daughter, Kate Martin; stepson Aaron (Bobbie) Poggi; sister, Robbie (Dave) Angel; brothers, Ken (Peggy) Neimeyer, Ron (Barb) Neimeyer, beloved granddaughter, Ava; 5 step grandchildren. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and a special nephew as well as her tribe of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dan (Lori) Neimeyer.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM Oakwood Memorial Park in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum; 2405 Champlain St. Ottawa, IL 61350.
