Rosemarie C. (Damyen) Beard, 86, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Pavilion of Ottawa.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Mrs. Beard was born on October 9, 1938 in Ottawa to Joseph and Mabel (Schafer) Damyen. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward M. Beard, on November 24, 1955 in the Rectory at St. Francis of Assissi Church in Ottawa. She and Edward spent 59 cherished years together.
Through the years, Rosemarie spent her life as a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. If you knew Rosemarie, you knew her love for owls and her love for collecting them. As the years went on, Rosemarie became fond of collecting Native American keepsakes. Her favorite days were spent taking rides with her husband, reading, and especially spending time with her family. She will remain forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Gail) Beard of Ottawa, Marty Beard of Ottawa, Tom Beard of Ottawa, Brenda (Rick) Herrera of Ottawa, David Beard of Ottawa, and Brian (Carol) Beard of Oswego. Also surviving are over 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan Damyen and Roger (Judi) Damyen; one sister, Jolene (Jerry) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Mark and Steven Beard; two grandsons, Jason and John Beard; and a sister-in-law, Thresa Damyen.
Rosemarie was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Oakwood Memorial Park.
