Carol Ann (Alsvig) Goetz, 83, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home in Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Bethel Luhteran Church in Ottawa with Rev. David Ufkes, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Carol was born on December 20, 1941 in Ottawa to Olinius and Alverta (Aurbeck) Alsvig. She was a graduate of Hillcrest Academy in Minnesota. Carol worked for Illinois Trust and Savings for 10 years. She married Jack Goetz on May 12, 1962 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Ottawa. Carol was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and Mission Aid. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing the piano, reading, and spending winters at her home in Sebring, Florida.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jacqueline (Jon) Brewer, of Kings Mountain, NC, Shelley (Tony) Sinning, of Ottawa, Lisa (Bill) Franklin, of Ottawa; six grandchildren, Taylor Brewer, Jordan Sinning, Cassidy Ceresa, Seth Brewer, Alex Sinning and Andy Franklin; five great-grandchildren, Jack Henry, Caroline and Wyatt Sinning, Liam Brewer and Harvey Franklin; and one brother, Richard (Diane) Alsvig.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Goetz; her parents, Olinius and Alverta Alsvig; and a brother, Robert Alsvig.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Sinning, Alex Sinning, Andrew Franklin, Jon Brewer, Tony Sinning and Bill Franklin. Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor and Seth Brewer.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Carol was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Oakwood Memorial Park.
