Kathleen Elizabeth Stevens Schulz, age 73, of Ottawa, born in Springfield, Oregon, passed onto heaven on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; sons, Scott (Nancy) Schulz, Jeff (Jeremie) Schulz, a daughter, Kari (Al) Leffelman; eight grandchildren, Claire, Sophia, Ryan, Gus, Alaina, Michael, Sadie, and Sawyer; a brother, Jerry (Norma) Stevens and a sister, Mary Stevens.
Kathy was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Ottawa, Illinois and Oswego, New York. Kathy taught Sunday School and Children’s Church, was involved in ladies ministry, Bible studies, bus/van ministries, nursery, and was a teen department head in Oswego, New York. Kathy was a child care provider in Ottawa for many years and teacher’s aide at Wallace Grade School for nine years.
More than anything Kathy loved and served her family. She lived a life of service to those around her. Everyone who knew her, loved her, and she loved everyone. She was truly the most patient, kind, and loving person. She dedicated her life to her husband, kids, and grandkids. We are deeply saddened and there will always be a void without her here. Her beautiful spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren whom she loved and adored.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Kathleen was laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Oakwood Memorial Park.
