Anna Mae (Quiring) Hamalle, 92, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa with Msgr. Mark Merdian, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.

Anna was born on February 26, 1932 in Mitchell, South Dakota to Benjamin and Anna (Jonnassen) Quiring. She worked for Union Carbide, Famous Department Store, and as a volunteer at Reruns making their window displays. Anna also, worked at the Roxy Movie Theater in Ottawa where she first met her future husband, Jack. She married John “Jack” Hamalle on June 2, 1951 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Anna was a member of the Ottawa Women’s Club, many card groups, the Moose, and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her three children, Justin (Lori) Hamalle, Michele (Butch) Wargo, Jacqueline (Allen) Wallace, all of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Karen) Hamalle, Cassie Carrera, Zachary (Courtney) Wallace, Morgan (Dale) Kramer; seven great-grandchildren, Jared, Kaelyn (Hayden), Jack Hamalle, Averie Hazelwood, Everett, Arthur Wallace, Gretta Kramer; one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Robert (Sandy) Quiring, of Ottawa, Ronald (Pat) Quiring, of Florida; and many many good friends on Jim Thomas Cir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Quiring; her husband, Jack Hamalle; and a son, John Hamalle.

Pallbearers will be David Quiring, Zachary Wallace, Jeremy Hamalle, Jared Hamalle, and Cassie Carrera.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Hamalle, Everet Wallace, and Arthur Wallace.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Anna was laid to rest in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Devotion at Oakwood Memorial Park.
